FALL '19 CAPSTONE REBRAND
NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW
Early in this past fall semester, I was challenged to make an iconography set using Noun Project guidelines. Tons of brainstorming and doodling later, I decided on a western theme. I thought, cute, fun, why not! My classmates thought, how impractical. As I sat through their presentations of computers and houses and fruits, I thought, my set isn’t impractical at all. It’s simply unorthodox.
In another class I was given the golden final project brief, to simply redo or enhance an old project. So I decided to breathe some life into my “impractical” little icon set. I’ll show them. Give it a story, a reason to be for the naysayers. Alongside this important feat, I also wanted to use this project for personal growth. To manifest the photo-editing, typography, color, animation, UI design, brand voice—etc, etc, that I’ve learned over the years. That being said, I created a quick prototype for the class project. It’s simply a preview. In my free time, I’m continuing the concept, constantly adding and working on new things around the idea for fun and to ultimately one day showcase all of my capabilities as I continue to learn new ones.

I'LL SHOW THEM!

Oh—and why the NWSS? I grew up attending the event in Denver. Probably the nearest “western” event to my heart, so I decided they get the love and attention. Also, there’s lots of readily available info since it’s an annual event. That way dates and actual happenings are one less thing I have to make up in this faux campaign.
Under construction, but for now please let my little cowboy take you to the rodeo! :)
